2021: 372 vehicles seized, Rs 51.67 lakh fine imposed in Ganderbal last year | KNO

Ganderbal, Jan 07 (KNO): Around 372 vehicles Including JCB's, dumper, tractor have been seized in Ganderbal that were involved in illegal mining while Rs 51,67,000 fine has recovered so far. District Mineral Officer Ganderbal (DMO) Er Zulfikar Mohd Shafi and his team has seized 372 vehicles, JCB's, dumper, Tractor used in illegal mining and transportation of raw materials from different areas of Ganderbal district and recovered fine Rs 51,67,000 lakh till date during raids. DMO Ganderbal along with his team with the help of Ganderbal Police conducted raids in different areas of Ganderbal including Kangan, Gund, Kulan, Shadipora, Manigam, Arch, Watalbagh and other parts of district to check illegal mining, extraction and transportation of raw materials. “We are repeatedly saying that we will be acting tough against illegal mining, we are trying to discourage it. It was in this context that a drive has been launched in Ganderbal during which around 372 vehicles including JCB's and dumper, tractors have seized throughout the district,” DMO Ganderbal told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO). “We have been seizing vehicles found involved in illegal transportation of minerals and registered FIRs too,” he said—(KNO)
